LCB staff pass first-of-its-kind excise qualification

Bonded warehouse firm London City Bond (LCB) has announced that seven members of staff have passed their excise qualification run by The Bonded Warehousekeepers Association (BWA) in association with the IoE (Institute of Export).

According to the LCB, the majority gaining a distinction in the qualification. The firm was pleased to support the initiative by the BWA, which it said helps ensure that staff are kept fully up-to-date with how excise warehouses work, and the requirements expected by HMRC.

Further staff

In addition to the initial seven who have passed, the company have further staff studying for the qualification, and its aim is to ensure that as many of its staff are fully trained to the levels required.

The qualification claims to be the first-of-its-kind, and aims to provide learners with the skills and supporting knowledge required by employers in excise industry.

The qualification is appropriate for learners who have responsibility for the storage and movement of excise goods (alcohol) as part of their core daily work routine. It also supports work-based learning within the industry in general.
