Ferrari Trento CEO receives knighthood
Matteo Lunelli, the CEO and president of sparkling wine powerhouse Ferrari Trento, has been named as a recipient of Italy’s Cavaliere del Lavoro honour.
Lunelli is one of 25 entrepreneurs named in the list who will be presented with the Cavaliere del Lavoro (Knight of Labour) by President Sergio Mattarella – also named on the list are Louis Vuitton CEO Pietro Beccari, and entrepreneur (and daughter of the late Silvio Berlusconi) Marina Berlusconi.
“Receiving this prestigious award is a source of great pride for me, that I wish to share with all those who work and have worked with me,” said Lunelli of the honour
“At the same time, it confirms mine and my family’s commitment, together with all the women and men of Gruppo Lunelli, to work in harmony with the environment and in tune with the territory, maintaining the values of excellence and innovation in the wake of tradition,” he continued.
Lunelli has been CEO and president of Ferrari Trento since 2011, having been managing director of Gruppo Lunelli since 2004.
“I am convinced that a company should not only create value for its shareholders, but also generate well-being, safety and beauty for its employees and for the community that hosts it, putting people at the center. This recognition will be a further spur to continue working with passion to promote the Italian lifestyle in the world.”
Lunelli’s uncle, Gino Lunelli, also received the title of Cavaliere del Lavoro in 1987 for his services to the wine industry. Matteo Lunelli attributed his “entrepreneurial spirit” to his uncle.
