MORE INFORMATION
Great Southern: The Most Ancient, Most Isolated and Largest Wine Region in the World
The Great Southern wine region is a vast and remote landscape; wild and undiscovered. With five subregions and climatic conditions ranging from cool maritime in the south (Albany and Denmark) to continental further north (Frankland River, Mount Barker and Porongurup), its vibrant community of dynamic small producers cultivate a broad range of varieties and styles. The region is renowned for its cool climate Shiraz and Riesling and also produces fine Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Its strong terroir and single vineyard focus have made it a home for outstanding, characterful wines.
