Market Place “knows your limits”
Market Place is showing its support for the Department of Health’s current “Know your limits” campaign this week. The bar, near London’s Oxford Circus, is running an initiative this week intending to inform consumers of the number of units they are consuming, using a sticker placed on each glass or bottle served.
Cantaloupe Group MD Richard Bigg acknowledged that his company “is in the business of selling booze, and essentially relies on the drinking public’s desire to keep drinking, but we say little and often.” He went on to encourage a more Mediterranean approach to alcohol consumption, saying: “Very rarely will you see a Spanish person intoxicated. We’re not trying to launch a policing exercise or an AA clinic, but how many people actually know how many units they consume in an evening?”
The initiative runs until this Friday, 13 June.
