Nice on ice?
First there was cider over ice and then there was Champagne – Piper-Heidsieck’s “Piscine” promotion. Now there’s wine. UK agent Orbital have released its Couture by Stormhoek, while Off Piste have unveiled a new brand called Frozé.
Both Couture and Frozé are rosés from South Africa and have been made specifically to drink with ice – concentrated fruit keeps its flavour despite the diluting effect of melting ice.
Bottles of the Frozé wine will be available in Tesco, Asda, Waitrose, Nisa Today and Co-op stores from the July 30 priced at £4.99. Off Piste Wines is a UK agent recently set up by Paul Letheren and Anthony Fairbank who previously worked at Western Wines.
Orbital’s Couture is available at Thresher and costs £6.99.
