Nicolas Feuillatte welcomes new year with new UK importer
Champagne Nicolas Feuillatte is returning to the UK on-trade and offering “an indulgence for the many” in a new partnership with Hallgarten & Novum Wines.
Champagne Nicolas Feuillatte has announced that, from 1 January 2025, Hallgarten & Novum Wines will be its exclusive UK importer. The partnership joins France’s best-selling grand marque with one of the UK’s largest specialist wine distributors.
According to Christophe Juarez, managing director of Champagne Nicolas Feuillatte: “Joining forces with Hallgarten to address one of the most influential markets is enthusiastically motivating everyone at Champagne Nicolas Feuillatte.”
He continues: “It also reflects the strong ambition of Champagne Nicolas Feuillatte to grow on the international stage.”
As part of the new arrangement, Nicolas Feuillatte will return to the UK on-trade with a dedicated range. Designed for wine cellars, hotels, bars and restaurants, the collection attends to the particular needs of this market sector.
In particular, it helps promote the house’s self-declared ‘manifesto’ that Champagne should not be reserved for special occasions, but rather be treated as an affordable luxury.
“Given the end of the ‘roaring twenties’,” says Juarez, “it is particularly appropriate to offer ‘an indulgence for the many’ with this initiative, alongside our prominent position in the off-trade.”
A growing portfolio
For Hallgarten & Novum Wines, meanwhile, the partnership with Champagne Nicolas Feuillatte comes following a year of substantial growth and change. After its purchase by Coterie Holdings at the close of 2023, it has expanded its team and added prestigious labels such as Paul Jaboulet Aîné and Banfi to its portfolio.
“The past 12 months have seen our business go from strength to strength,” says Andrew Bewes, the distributor’s managing director, “as we have welcomed some of the most prestigious wineries in the world to our portfolio. The addition of Champagne Nicolas Feuillatte, Frances’s favourite marque, to our range is an honour.”
The partnership will officially begin in the new year. Within a month, Champagne Nicolas Feuillatte and Hallgarten & Novum Wines will have their first presentation to the UK trade. The Champagnes will be on show at Hallgarten & Novum Wines’ annual tasting in London on 27 and 28 January.
“Our partnership with Nicolas Feuillatte adds great strength and depth to our Champagne portfolio, allowing us to offer customers real choice in this important category,” concludes Bewes. “We are massively excited to welcome them to the Hallgarten family.”
