Here are the drinks companies with Royal Warrants
King Charles III and Queen Camilla have granted Royal Warrants to a number of producers, distillers and merchants in the updated version of the Companies By Appointment list.
A Royal Warrant means that a company supplies goods or services to the Royal Household.
The King, who was crowned in May 2023, announced his first Royal Warrant list in May of this year, with a number of drinks brands making the cut. Now the royal couple has released the second, updated version of the list, with a total of 386 companies
A number of Champagne brands have been given the Windsor seal of approval, with Bollinger, Louis Roederer, Moët & Chandon, Pol Roger, Veuve Clicquot and Laurent-Perrier all receiving the Royal Warrant of Appointment from His Majesty the King.
Groupe Bollinger grantee and président directuer général Etienne Bizot commented: “I am delighted to hear that Champagne Bollinger has once again been bestowed the great honour of receiving the Royal Warrant. It is with great pride that we display the Royal Warrant on every bottle of Champagne Bollinger we produce, and it is extra special to receive it this year from His Majesty The King, on the 140th anniversary since it was first bestowed upon the House by Queen Victoria in 1884.”
Pol Roger was first given a Royal Warrant in 1877, and then by George V in 1912, George VI in 1947, and Queen Elizabeth II in 2003.
But it isn’t just fine French fizz which features on the list – Camel Valley, based in Cornwall, appears too, offering a further indication of the growing recognition of English sparkling wine. Camel Valley first received Royal Warrant status in 2018. In November 2023, Camel Valley Special Reserve 2015 was even served at a state banquet for the (now impeached) South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol.
On the stronger side from an ABV perspective, Fladgate Partnership-owned Taylor’s Port and Symington Family Estates’ Graham’s Port have also made the cut.
Fladgate CEO Adrian Bridge said: “This recognition is a truly significant moment in Taylor’s long and distinguished history. It is a testament to the dedication and commitment of our team, whose unwavering pursuit of excellence has made this honour possible.”
Wine merchants also feature heavily on the list, with Justerini & Brooks, Lea & Sandeman, Walker & Wodehouse, Berry Bros. & Rudd and Corney & Barrow all appearing in Charles & Camilla’s selection.
Spirits
It isn’t just the cellars of the royal palaces which will be well-stocked, but the drinks cabinets too.
The King, known to be a fan of a gin & tonic, has appointed Tanqueray Gordon & Company and Schweppes manufacturer Beverage Services Limited.
Pimm’s, Bacardí-owned vermouth giant Martini, Thomas Hine Cognac and, his late mother’s favourite, Dubonnet are there too.
Also unsurprisingly, given the monarch’s self-professed love of Scotland, whisky distillers including John Walker & Sons, Lochnagar Distillery and D. Johnston & Co (Laphroaig), as well as blender Matthew Gloag & Son, will all be able to highlight their connection to the Royal Household on their packaging.
With regards to beer, Shepherd Neame, known for its ales including Spitfire Amber, also carries a Royal Warrant.
