What to expect from the new Thornbridge pub on Fetter Lane

Thornbridge & Co recently stated its intention to open a new site named The Wild Swan in the City of London. db finds out more.

Speaking to the drinks business about how it all began, Thornbridge & Co CEO and co-founder Simon Webster said: “When we saw the site at Fetter Lane we were very excited by the scheme. The area is home to many of the same companies who frequent our Birmingham site The Colmore so they may be familiar with our offer.”

Noting how the brewery’s new Union range would benefit from a pub location with a fair amount of people passing through it, Webster told db: “The proximity to Chancery Lane tube station also gave us confidence that the pub will be accessible for many more Londoners than those just situated around Fetter Lane, as we are keen to showcase a broad range of Thornbridge beers including the new Union range.”

Thornbridge & Co director Jamie Hawksworth explained: “Since the beginning of Thornbridge & Co we have wanted to open a London site and bring our offer to the capital. I can still remember the excitement when I opened The Euston Tap 14 years ago and we are going to bring that level of excitement to London.”

Hawksworth revealed: “Our aim will be to have a heavy cask beer offer, alongside some great keg beers and a fabulous wine list like our other Thornbridge & Co sites, we will also be offering food throughout the day”.

Describing the area and its potential to play a part in beer discovery for seasoned drinkers as well as those simply interested in beer, Webster added: “Our target demographic remains anyone who drinks beer as we have such a diverse range of beers always available.”

The Wild Swan will be working towards a provisional opening date of Easter 2025 with work at the site beginning on its refurbishment in January next year.
