Coravin embarks on ‘World Wine Tour’
Wine preservation system Coravin is embarking on tours in the UK, Italy, France and Australia to showcase rare wines by-the-glass.
The month-long World Wine Tour menus launch on 1 May. In the UK, the wines have been provided supplier Top Selection.
The wines chosen range from a Margaux icon that really needs no introduction to a Hungarian producer that has been making wine since the 16th century, alongside a boutique blanc de blancs Champagne and a single vineyard Barolo.
The wine selection on the menu is as follows:
- Château Palmer 2013
- Champagne Andre Jacquart Le Mesnil Grand Cru 2013
- Egon Muller Scharzhofberger Kabinett 2020
- Boroli Barolo Brunella 2015
- Szepsy Szamorodni 2016
“We’ve hand-picked fine wines for this programme rarely available by the glass,” explained Top Selection founder Akos Forczek.
“We are great advocates of the possibilities that Coravin opens up for sommeliers and their customers; it is a pleasure to bring this to life through these incredible wines and iconic venues,” he added.
Coravin inventor Greg Lambrecht said that he was “very proud” to be “launching this programme in venues all over the world in May”, arguing that it would facilitate “rare and memorable experiences for wine lovers”.
Restaurants taking part in the UK are:
- City Social, London
- Medlar Restaurant, London
- Moor Hall Restaurant with Rooms, Lancashire
- The Dining Room at Chewton Glen, Hampshire
There are also plans for a second wave of menus to be launched in September of this year.
