Belfast-based Kirker Greer Spirits has partnered with Singapore distributor The First Pour to kickstart its growth plans in Asia-Pacific.

Kirker Greer Spirits makes Asia debut in Singapore

The spirits arm of Irish brand owner and distributor Drinksology Kirker Greer (DKG Group) has launched its products into Singapore for the first time. Its partnership with The First Pour will make the portfolio available across both on-trade venues and retailers.

Kirker Greer Spirits recognises Singapore as a key strategic market, the company has said, noting that the island plays a pivotal role in Kirker Greer’s growth plans as a gateway to Asia-Pacific.

Ryan McFarland, chief commercial & strategy officer at DKG Group, told the drinks business that “Singapore provides a natural connection between east and west and is a perfect base to introduce our brands into Southeast Asia”.

He said that the spirits arm of the business is growing in both Europe and Australasia.

The Kirker Greer Spirits portfolio includes Ukiyo Rice Vodka, Ukiyo Tokyo Dry Gin, Ukiyo Blossom Gin, Ukiyo Yuzu Gin, Born Irish Whiskey, and Kirker Shamrock Whiskey.

McFarland said its Ukiyo Japanese spirits and Irish whiskey portfolio will be the group’s immediate focus in Singapore, “with potential for both Mezcal and Tequila projects in time”.

Singapore is the first destination for DKG’s spirits arm in Southeast Asia, and McFarland added that the group’s “first priority is building our awareness through our partner in Singapore”.

However, further growth plans include “aspirations” in South Korea, Thailand, Vietnam and Japan, starting in 2024.

“China is also within our pipeline and we hope to engage potential partners over the balance of 2024 and see brands available early next year,” he added.
