Johnnie Patrick MW dies
It is with sadness that the drinks business shares the news that Johnnie Patrick MW has died last Sunday at the age of 94.
Johnnie passed the Master of Wine exam in 1965 and served 58 years as a member.
He spent 42 years of his career with IDV (International Distillers & Vintners) and was first responsible for wine and spirit producing companies in the UK and Europe. Johnnie then became the assistant director with responsibilities for overseas companies in the North American, African and Australasian continents. He was an active member of the Institute and served as Chair of the Institute in 1991.
Johnnie’s family have shared details of his service, and welcome fellow members to attend and pay their respects. Please contact the Institute for more details here.
If you have any memories or messages you would like to share for Johnnie’s memoriam page which the Insitute has currently updated, or for his family, please do not hesitate to get in touch and please contact Luke Stephen.
The news brings the active membership of the Institute of Masters of Wine to 413.
