Signature Brew launches crowdfunding campaign for international expansion
London-based Signature Brew is already overfunding on its £700,000 crowdfunding campaign launched this week, set to fuel both national and international expansion.
The independent brewery, launched in 2011, launched its third crowdfunding campaign on Wednesday 25 October. Signature Brew’s latest fundraising round for £700,000 is already overfunding, with a total of £707,103 from 233 investors raised at time of publishing.
Signature Brew works with bands and musicians in order to create collaboration beers inspired by music. Collaborations include that of artists from The Prodigy to Lola Young, and Hot Chip to Hospital Records, IDLES to The Darkness.
Based in Walthamstow, East London, Signature Brew supplies on-trade venues including Strongroom, Rough Trade, Bush Hall and The British Music Experience.
Funds raised in this latest campaign will assist the business in its plans to expand both nationally and internationally across pubs, venues and festivals as well as via retail through supermarkets, convenience and bottle shops.
Co-founder Tom Bott said of the business: “Our original goal of making beer better at the venues and festivals we loved to go to still drives us today and through our community of artists, venues and partners, more and more venues are choosing to stock Signature Brew across the UK.”
Gus Unger-Hamilton, keyboardist and vocalist for indie rock band altJ, is one of Signature Brew’s investors. He said of the new campaign: “Ever since alt-J collaborated with Signature Brew in 2018 I’ve loved the brewery and what the guys are trying to achieve with music & beer. Joe and I are passionate supporters of the business and can’t wait for the exciting journey ahead that awaits us all.”
The brewery is already overfunding on Seedrs, having hit the 100% target of £700,000 immediately, with the company warning that the opportunity to contribute will only be available “for a short period of time”.
