Jay-Z’s Champagne brand launches £1,000 Blanc de Noirs
Armand de Brignac Champagne has announced the global release of Blanc de Noirs Assemblage Number Four, an “intense and rich expression of Pinot Noir” assembled from three vintages, which retails £1,055.
The latest addition to the prestige range of cuvées has been made from the 2013, 2014, and 2015 vintages in “a testament to the art of champagne blending”, the company said, which resulted “in a blend of unparalleled depth and elegance”.
Only 7,328 bottles of Armand de Brignac Blanc de Noirs Assemblage No. 4 will be available globally, with each metalized bottle inscribed with its own individual number, as well as the disgorgement date, in order to highlight its rarity. The bottle have all been finished by hand, with the application of a French pewter label before being hand polishing.
The cuvée has been designed to show the evolution of the initial expression of Armand de Brignac’s debut Blanc de Noirs, Assemblage No. 1, in 2015.
The wine was created with fruit sourced from some of the best Premier and Grand Cru Pinot Noir-producing villages, and once the finished wine had been created, it rested in the cellars for seven years until disgorgement took place in April 2023.
Initially, the Blanc de Noirs Assemblage No. 4 will be available exclusively from Harrods as part of the special edition La Collection set, featuring Champagne Armand de Brignac’s six cuvées in a special lacquered gift box, priced at £6,400. It will subsequently be paired with the Armand de Brignac Brut Gold in a special twin-pack gift set priced £1,385, released in November 2023.
The Blanc de Noirs Assemblage No. 4 will be available as a 750ml single bottle from 2024, at select retailers in the UK and worldwide, priced £1,055.
Armand de Brignac was launched in 2006 by American rapper Shawn Jay-Z Carter, who owns the brand, with the Champagne itself produced for the brand by Maison Cattier. In 2021 Moët Hennessy partnered with Jay-Z after acquiring a 50% stake in the brand.
It is often referred to as ‘Ace of Spades’ and its meteroic rise has seen it “breaks barriers and reflects contemporary luxury, while preserving the traditions of the Champagne terroirs”, Moet said at the time.
