Torino Distillati master distiller Denis Muni dies

Torino Distillati’s master distiller Denis Muni, who was a much admired and lauded figure in the drinks industry, sadly died this week following a battle with cancer.

Denis leaves behind his wife, son and the raft of friendships he had nurtured over the course of a successful 30-year career in the drinks industry.

At the helm of distilling at Torino Distillati, which produces liqueurs, brandies, grappa, syrups, alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, Denis developed a multitude of award-winning global drinks brands, including the decorated Malfy Gin and aperitivo brands Italicus Rosolio Di Bergamotto and Hotel Starlino.

A celebrated and respected industry figure, he was recognised for his talent, craft and dedication to creating world class spirits. Even more so, he’s remembered by friends for being an incredible person. He’ll be sorely missed across the industry, around the world, but not least in his home city of Turin, Italy where his funeral took place this week.

The drinks business team sends its thoughts to his family, friends and colleagues.
