Timothy Taylor’s and Thornbridge ready collab beer launch

Two of Britain’s most revered breweries, Timothy Taylor’s and Thornbridge, have united to release a much-anticipated pale ale this month.

The partnership brings together West Yorkshire’s Timothy Taylor’s, known for its hugely popular flagship ale Landlord, with Derbyshire-based Thornbridge, known for its award-winning IPA Jaipur, in a union that marks Timothy Taylor’s first-ever collaboration beer in its 165-year history.

Speaking to the drinks business, Thornbridge CEO, Simon Webster said: “Having drunk and enjoyed Landlord long before Thornbridge had even started brewing, it’s been fantastic for myself and the team to be involved in their first ever collaboration.”

The new beer, which is a 4.2% ABV elderflower and gooseberry pale ale named Artesian, was brewed at Thornbridge Brewery and will be available across the UK in cask, keg and 440ml cans across both the on and off-trade.

Discussing the collabation, Webster told db: “We started discussing this collaboration in 2019 and Covid derailed the original brew day but now it’s happened and all we need is some summer weather to complement this fantastic beer.”

Timothy Taylor’s head brewer Andy Leman added: “Artesian is a fresh pale ale that just screams summer and was brewed using Crystal, Chinook and Amarillo hops, Pale Ale malt and wheat. It is packed with aroma and flavour from the addition of elderflowers and gooseberries, and we look forward to hearing how our customers are enjoying it over the next few weeks.”

Artesian will be launching at Thornbridge’s ‘Peakender’ festival on the weekend of 18-20 August before becoming available through both breweries from 21 August for a limited time only.
