Why beer-infused pizza is an ‘utter masterpiece’
Supermarket chain Aldi is set to launch a new beer-infused pizza that has been made from “craft ales and beef brisket”.
The value chain divulged in a recent statement that the idea for a beer-infused pizza originated from research showing that, in the weeks prior to Father’s Day, Google searches for beer and pizza rose rapidly. With this in mind, a plan ensued to gain a slice of the action due to knowing that both beer and pizza were popular staples, both for dad’s but also for fans of beer and pizza across the nation.
Speaking about the new launch, a spokesperson from Aldi insisted that the store’s newly invented pizza was an “utter masterpiece” and revealed it “consists of a slow-cooked, beer-infused beef brisket, sitting atop a blend of creamy, mozzarella cheese and complemented by a crunchy sourdough crust – all in one incredible bite”. Indeed, combining that all-important ingredient of ‘beer’ into an easy-to-devour meal.
The Aldi spokesperson went on to highlight how the “flavours are elevated with the addition of a zesty BBQ Bourbon chipotle sauce to drizzle, and sweet caramelised onions”. A step-up from pizza’s original Italian origins, or as some may attest an American-style upgrade that also broadens the reach of standard pizza and places it squarely in the repertoire of beer fans looking for an accompanying feast.
The 480g pizza has been labelled as a “Specially Selected Gastro Beer Infused Beef Brisket Sourdough Pizza” and will be available in stores from 15 June priced at just £4.99.
