db recommends: a tasting from the Occitanie region
A trade tasting from the Occitanie region in France is due to take place this month in London, showcasing the finest wines from across the area.
The event on 13 June from Experience Le Sud will see 27 producers bring more than 300 wines, which will make it the region’s most comprehensive tasting to-date.
The producers include independent boutique wineries as well as acclaimed negociants and cooperatives. You can discover more about the exhibitors here.
A new feature this year will see two discovery tables to showcase indigenous grapes varieties and wines with green credentials.
Additionally, most of the wines are new in the UK and looking for distribution.
The Occitanie region is the largest wine producing area in France and covers the vineyards of Languedoc, Roussillon, most of the South-West as well as the south-western corner of the Rhône Valley.
Considered one of the most exciting regions in France, Occitanie offers a wealth of diversity with over 100 different grape varieties and a vast array of terroirs and climate, the organisers said.
