Morandé Wine Group launches low-alcohol Sauvignon Blanc
Chile-based Morandé Wine Group has announced the launch of a new low-alcohol Sauvignon Blanc into the UK market.
Aptly timed, with those undertaking a dry, or damp, January seeking out low and no-alcohol alternatives to their favourite drinks, Chile’s Morandé Wine Group has launched a lower alcohol 8% Sauvignon Blanc named Bold WMN.
Bold WMN Low Alcohol Sauvignon Blanc boasts aromas of tropical fruit and white flowers, the producer said, and is ideal served with seafood.
The grapes are sourced from Chile’s Central Valley. The 8% ABV wine has an SRP of £8.
Data has suggested that participation in a fully dry January may be limited this year, with just 5% of respondents to a Vivino survey of 1,844 users saying they intended to take part. Instead, many are expected to opt for a ‘damp January’ – cutting back consumption and seeking out lower alcohol alternatives after the busy Christmas period.
What’s more, the British Beer and Pub Association (BBPA) is urging people to head back into the pub this January to assist businesses “that urgently need help to survive” after a bleak year of trading due to the cost of living crisis.
If you are looking to completely cut out alcohol, the BBPA estimates that 39,000 pubs across the UK now serve a low or no alcohol beer.
