Virgin Wines launches range of wine-based advent calendars for Christmas 2022

The sun is only just setting upon the hazy months of summer, the last plumes of smoke from barbecues across the land still lingering in the dusky sky. And what’s that, appearing on the horizon to rudely awaken us all from our Mediterranean idyll? Yes, it’s news of an advent calendar. And so it begins.

Yes, bringing us all crashing back down to Earth with much the same vigour as a ‘Back to School’ sign appearing in the F&F display window of a big Tesco, news of the first Christmas products is starting to filter through.

This means, of course, that Autumn is not far away and that retailers have decided that, all things considered, we should probably start thinking about Christmas.

And if you want to get well and truly ahead of the game this year then Virgin Wines has got you covered, as the online wine retailer has announced the launch of a range of wine-based advent calendars to see you through the murky dark of December.

Featuring an appealing wreath-adorned front door design, the wine-based advent calendars come in a range of three options: all-red, all-white, or a mixed calendar – all retailing at £89.99.

The calendars are chock-full with 24 miniature, 18.7cl bottles of wine, with the considerable added bonus of a full-size bottle behind the 25th door.

“Our Wine Advent Calendars are back and they are as brilliant as ever! Featuring a brand new festive wreath design, filled with new grape varieties and we have reduced the packaging by 30%!” Virgin Wines enthused.

A peak inside the mixed calendar reveals wines from across the globe, including Australia, Argentina, Chile, Spain, France, South Africa, New Zealand, Portugal and Italy.

“We’re really excited to be releasing our advent calendars for the 6th year and look forward to customers both new and old counting down to Christmas with Virgin Wines.” Said Jay Wright, CEO of Virgin Wines.

“This year’s front door design has been inspired by and created in collaboration with a local wreathmaker from Norfolk, the county where Virgin Wines is based. 2022 hasn’t been without challenges but as always Christmas is an opportunity for people to come together and enjoy as many magical moments – and glasses of wine – as possible.”
