Adnams launches new blush cider to Wild Wave range

Adnams Brewery has expanded its Wild Wave family and added a blush cider to the range to sit alongside Wild Wave and Wild Wave 0.5%.

The English cider, which follows the Suffolk-based brewer and distiller’s recent penchant for pink drinks, is made with carefully selected varieties of English apples, harvested from Worcestershire and Herefordshire, and blended with British rose extract.

Speaking to db, Adnams production director Fergus Fitzgerald said: “The pink hue from the red fleshed apples in Wild Wave Blush means it looks great, but just as importantly it plays a part in the flavour. Whether it’s Wild Wave Blush English Cider, our Copper House Pink Gin, or our Provence Rosé , soon to be launched in bag-in-box, we aren’t focussed on any particular colour, but where it plays a part in the flavour and its enjoyment then we are happy to add a dash of pink across our drinks. Our Copper House Pink Gin is made with beautiful deep pink hibiscus flowers, and although it distils as a clear gin, it’s pink at heart”.

Fitzgerald explained: “We wanted to bring something new to the Wild Wave family and tried lots of different options. We were drawn to the natural marriage of fruit and floral flavours. Wild Wave Blush still tastes like cider, but the subtle botanical infusion of rose gives a refreshing balance to its profile.”

Adnams Wild Wave Blush English Cider, which has a 4% ABV, will be available to buy from for £19.99 for 12x330ml cans from the Adnams webshop.
