The Martell Mumm Perrier-Jouët Group has promoted Didier Mariotti to the post of chef de cave at Champagne G.H. Mumm and unveiled a new winemaking structure for the two Champagne houses. Mariotti and Hervé Deschamps, fellow chef de cave at Champagne Perrier-Jouët, will both join the management board of the Mumm Perrier-Jouët Group.

Jackson Wine Estates International has appointed Paul Thrower as national account manager for the UK off-trade. Prior to joining Jackson Wine Estates International, Thrower was a national account controller with Constellation Europe.

Vintellect drinks consultancy business, which was set up by Clare Young in 2003, has joined forces with Liz Robertson MW.

Wine consultant and former marketing director of Thierry’s, Lynne Whitaker, has collaborated with research consultant, Wendy Ives to form Winebrand Research.

Shona McGill has joined Thierry’s Wine Services as PR manager. She was formerly PR co-ordinator at Somerfield.

Vincor founder Donald L Triggs has left the company now Constellation’s acquisition has been completed. “While we anticipated Don’s departure, he will be missed,” said Rob Sands, Constellation’s president and CEO.

Christian Delpeuch, president of the CIVB, Bordeaux’s wine board, resigned on May 30, frustrated by the French government and growers’ failure to address the region’s wine crisis.
