Video shows moment entire ‘wall of wine’ collapses after worker pulls out a bottle
CCTV footage has shown the moment an entire “wall of wine” in a restaurant collapses to the floor after a member of staff attempted to pull out a single bottle.
According to reports, the footage was captured in the Frou Frou restaurant, St Petersburg, Russia on 24 April. A man attempts to pull a bottle from a huge floor-to-ceiling wine rack, before checking the label and putting the bottle back in its place. Some of the bottles above seem to be displaced when the bottle is put back, and despite the member of staff’s attempt to stem the flow of bottles cascading to the floor, soon a veritable avalanche of bottles is tumbling from the wine wall.
Since the incident was not deemed to be his fault, the employee was not fired for the mishap, though news reports indicate that the manufacturers of the device could face a claim due to alleged “miscalculations” that may have led to the moment the wall of wine collapses.
