Christie’s Shanghai to host its first online Moutai sale
By Alice LiangWith Chinese New Year just around the corner, Christie’s Shanghai will stage its first Moutai online sale, offering more than 600 bottles of rare Chinese baijiu.
From now until 18 January, Christie’s Shanghai is hosting the ‘Enticing Flavours – Kweichow Moutai Online’ sale exclusively for the Chinese market.
Hailed as the Chinese national liquor, Moutai represents the best of Chinese baijiu. The sale will present a spectacular range of fine Moutai from various periods in a single-owner online sale. The sale comprises more than 600 lots.
Highlights of the sale include WuXing Moutai 1959, The Great Master Chang Dai-Chien Commemoration Moutai 2012 (50 years), premium Moutai from the 1970s and 1980s, the Founding of the People’s Republic of China Package Moutai from 1999 to 2019, and other commemorative Moutai presented in original cartons.
