The week in pictures

This week in the world of drinks: Max Verstappen celebrates his Formula 1 world title with Ferrari Trento, Brad Pitt announces reopening of Miraval Studios at Château Miraval, and Magnus Carlsen defended his world champion chess title, receiving six bottles of Château La Grace Dieu des Prieurs 2015.

Max Verstappen celebrated his maiden Formula 1 world championship title with Ferrari Trento, after a chaotic and highly competitive season reached its dramatic conclusion in Abu Dhabi.

This marks the culmination of Ferrari Trento’s first year as the official toast of Formula 1.

Brad Pitt and Emmy-winning French producer Damien Quintard have announced the reopening of Miraval Studios at Château Miraval, after a major renovation took place.

The studio has sat unused for nearly two decades until now. This will add to the overall essence of Château Miraval, a striking property that will now offer an enviable recording set up to musicians. Naturally, the catering will also be of the highest order…

Norwegian Magnus Carlsen has defended his title at the World Chess Championship. Carlsen successfully defended his World Champion title for the fifth time in Dubai. As part of a partnership agreement between Château La Grace Dieu des Prieurs and the FIDE (International Chess Federation), Carlsen received a special prize from the Russian Chess Federation – a chess case containing the 2015 collection of Art Russe wines by Château La Grace Dieu des Prieurs.

English actor Rafe Sall was named ‘cigar smoker of the year’ at a London event earlier this month where attendees sipped on wines from Chile’s Viña Carmen.

This year celebrated the 200th anniversary of the independence of two great cigar producing nations, Honduras and Nicaragua.
