Heston Blumenthal launches Lazy Mandarin Negroni in Waitrose

Celebrity chef Heston Blumenthal has added a Lazy Mandarin Negroni to his Heston from Waitrose range, just in time for Christmas.

Heston Blumenthal launches Lazy Mandarin Negroni at Waitrose

TV chef and owner of three Michelin starred restaurant The Fat Duck, Blumenthal’s twist on the classic Italian cocktail launched both in store and online at the beginning of November at £20/50cl.

Blumenthal said: “Negroni has always been my drink of choice with its acidity and bitterness creating the perfect palette cleanser. For me, the orange notes are critical for the overall flavour of a negroni and I’ll be serving mine with a twist and squeeze of mandarin peel along with a sprig of fresh thyme to really accentuate the characteristics of this classic cocktail.”

Searches for ‘negroni’ on the Waitrose website have increased by more than a third in the past year, and the cocktail is the perfect partner to a festive feast.

The new offering joins a Lazy Espresso Martini and Lazy Sunshine Gin already in the Heston from Waitrose range.

Enjoy the tipple poured straight over ice, or combine 50ml of the negroni with 25ml of prosecco to create a delicious Negroni Sbagliato.

John Vine, our spirits buyer, said:  “With searches for negroni on waitrose.com up 37% compared to last year, we know that our customers are looking to enjoy this delicious cocktail at home, and Heston’s Lazy Mandarin Negroni is perfect for just that!

“Whether they’re opting to simply serve it over ice or mix it up for a Sbagliato, this new addition to our Heston from Waitrose range is sure to be enjoyed by many as we head into the festive season.”

Looking to mix up a storm this winter? Waitrose launched a tasting box packed with all the necessary elements to enjoy a cocktail at home earlier this year. Read more on that here.
