The week in pictures

This week in the world of drinks: we hang out with hard seltzer brand White Claw at All Points East festival, a 7,000 ft Oktoberfest is coming to Brick Lane, and watch the England vs India cricket test series at The Jaisalmer Indian Gin Kricket Pavilion, White City.

Our very own team at The Global Spirits Masters popped down to All Points East Festival last weekend to enjoy White Claw’s popup hard seltzer bar amid a wonderful weekend of music.

A 7,000ft Oktoberfest celebration is coming to Brick Lane from 29 – 31 October, with live music, drag acts, comedy, DJ sets and some Halloween fun accompanying the star of the show: the beer.

Chris Stemp, Event Manager at Brick Lane Tap Room says: “As it’s our first Bier Fest event, we’ve gone all out to prove a point to the naysayers. The massive space will get a full makeover and be transformed to the point of unrecognisable. We’ll be mixing that traditional Oktoberfest style with a UK festival feel featuring a hop themed bar and plenty of photo opps for the gram. If you’re looking for an Oktoberfest that’s new and exciting, look no further. You’ve found it!”

You can watch the remaining games of the engrossing test match between England and India at The Jaisalmer Indian Gin Kricket Pavilion Pop-Up Terrace at Kricket, White City.

As the action unfolds, the Jaisalmer Gin bar will be serving Jaisalmer Gin cocktails in front of the big screen.

Scottish craft rum producer, Cabezon Beverage, received a visit from The Scottish Cabinet Minister for Rural Affairs and Islands, Ms Mairi Gougeon. They discussed Cabezon’s continued growth, as well as how the government can support emerging businesses as the sector bounces back from the effects of the Covid pandemic.

“It was fantastic to have Ms Gougeon visit us at the distillery. We are working hard ourselves, but it is comforting to know that the Scottish Government has faith in what we are doing and is providing support to ourselves and businesses all over the country as we come out the end of a very difficult 18 months. The rum scene in Scotland is evolving and becoming more accessible. The media in Scotland have also been great, helping get the message out there and showcase some of the great products Scotland has to offer.” Said Fraser Graham, Marketing Director of Cabezon Beverage.
