Kylie Minogue launches cru classé Provence rosé
With her pink Prosecco on track to sell a million bottles by the end of the year, pop princess Kylie Minogue has added a cru classé Provence rosé to her wine range.
Kylie Minogue 2020 Cru Classé Côtes de Provence Rosé is made from a blend of 45% Cinsault, 25% Syrah, 15% Grenache, 10% Carignan and 5% Cabernet.
All of the grapes that go into the wine hail from Château Sainte Roseline’s cru classé estate in Les Arcs-Sur-Argens in Côtes de Provence, which boasts mineral-rich clay-limestone soils.
Château Sainte Roseline received its cru classé designation in 1955. Today, the vineyard extends to over 110 hectares.
Hand harvested at night, the grapes are gently pressed then lees aged after fermentation to give the wine added texture and depth.
The salmon pink wine is said to offer notes of white flowers, citrus blossom, pink grapefruit and apricot. Dry with bright acidity, its finish is long and refreshing.
Priced at £32 a bottle, the rosé has gone on sale at Harvey Nichols and through the Kylie Minogue Wines website. It is also on pour at private members’ club Annabel’s in Mayfair.
The high-end Provence pink joins the singer’s expanding portfolio of wines, which includes a Margaret-River Chardonnay, Côtes de Provence rosé, pink Prosecco, organic Cava, and southern French Sauvignon Blanc, Merlot and rosé.
“I have been so touched by the amazing reaction to Kylie Minogue Wines. To have released seven wines in less than a year, sold over two million bottles and now exporting to four continents has been absolutely astounding and testimony to all of the amazing Kylie Minogue Wines family – the growers, the winemakers, the distributors and, most importantly – the customers. “I hope you enjoy the latest addition to the portfolio,” Minogue said.
