The 10 most valuable spirits brands in the world
A new report has revealed the ten most valuable spirits brands in the world, with the strength of the spirits industry in China shining through as five of the ten highest value brands come from Chinese producers.
Yes, producers in China dominated the list of the ten most valuable spirits brands in the world, with the five brands accounting for a remarkable US$89 billion in sales over the past year. This sum totals some 85.7% of the total revenue for the entire top 10 most valuable brands.
Moutai – renowned Baiju producer – was by far and away the most valuable brand on the the list – valued at nearly $20bn more than at its closest rival. The data is compiled by valuation consultancy company Brand Finance.
Its closest competitor, Wuliangye, enjoyed a 24% increase in value over the last year, again through its focus on high end Baiju.
The highest-placed non-Chinese brand on the list is Jack Daniels, which comes in at number six with a value of $3.388 billion.
