Summergate appoints new management members
China-based drinks distributor Summergate Fine Wines & Spirits has appointed new management team members. Berny Yang has been named as the new general manager of Great China, while Sabrina Hosford is now the head of product and commercial at Woolworths International.
Berny Yang had garnered over 25 years of experience in the drink industry across China. Prior to joining Summergate in March 2020, he held general management leadership positions with Diageo China, Mast-Jagermeister, Constellation Brands, and Jovo under the company Jiang Xiao Bai.
He was appointed as the general manager of China of the company in August 2020.
In this new role, he will work in hand with Zora Wang, sales director of Hong Kong and Macau, and oversee the operations in China, Hong Kong and Macau.
Meanwhile, Sabrina Hosford, former general manager of Hong Kong and Macau, has recently switched her role to head of product and commercial at Woolworths International.
She will be working together with Jennifer Docherty MW, head of product and commercial at Summergate Fine Wines to support the business in Great China; Hosford will take care of other product categories of the company as well.
Summergate has close to 10 offices across China, covering the majority of important regions. Woolworths Liquor Group acquired Summergate in 2014. There is a major management shake-up of the company in recent years and they have changed the CEO for three times within five years.
