Adam Handling launches pink Prosecco afternoon tea

Hoping to capitalise on the UK’s love of all things pink and sparkling, Adam Handling has launched a pink Prosecco afternoon tea at his Chelsea restaurant in collaboration with Villa Sandi.

Winner of Restaurateur of the Year at the GQ Food & Drink Awards 2020, Adam Handling and his restaurant in Chelsea also hold the title for winner of the Contemporary Afternoon Tea Award.

“We’re really happy to be able to be the first to offer a special afternoon tea full of festive flavours, and to serve it with a delicious wine, which is so much fun, and livens up the whole table,” Handling said of the collaboration.

The pastry team behind the pink-themed edible offer is headed up by Chris Underwood. Blush-coloured bites include the festive vegetable stuffing sandwich with red cabbage and cranberry on tomato bread, as well as a dill-cured smoked salmon and cream cheese sandwich, and a red onion and stilton tartlet.

No afternoon tea is complete without an array of plain and fruit scones, served with seasonal jam and brandy clotted cream, and for those with a sweet tooth a blackcurrant mousse with vanilla custard and lemon, or chocolate cream, chestnut and bourbon will hit the spot.

The dishes have been created to pair perfectly with Villa Sandi Prosecco DOC Rosé, whose winery has been making sparkling wines using Pinot Noir for over 40 years.

The afternoon tea is priced at £65 and comes with a glass of Villa Sandi Prosecco DOC Rosé, but for those not so keen on the bubbly a range of pink teas from Newby, including the rosehip and hibiscus blend, are available instead.

This festive feast is available at Cadogan’s by Adam Handling or in the bar at Adam Handling Chelsea at the Belmond Cadogan on Sloane Street.
