Argento, which is the largest organic wine producer in Mendoza, has listed its Artesano de Argento Organic Fairtrade Malbec 2019 in 300 Tesco stores, with an RRP of £10 per bottle.

It is the second wine to come out of the Artesano de Argento range, and joins an Artesano de Argento Organic Fairtrade Malbec-Cabernet Franc, which launched in Sainsbury’s in January this year.

Argento’s estate covers 305ha of vineyards certified organic. The winery projects this will rise to 435ha by 2021.

Chief Winemaker Juan Pablo Murgia, said: “this is a project very close to my heart and I have a lot of faith in the potential of quality organic wines from Argentina.”

Earlier this year, the company extended its range with the launch of a ‘pioneering’ organic single vineyard Malbec, targeting the UK on-trade and independent retail market.

Gustavo Crespo, UK MD for Bodega Argento, said: “We look forward to introducing more new releases in the future, including new organic whites, under the Artesano de Argento label.”
