Breaking: Kylie Minogue launches Provençal Rosé
Pop sensation Kylie Minogue has unveiled her debut Côtes de Provence rosé today following the successful launch of her first pink wine in May this year.
Kylie Minogue with Paul Schaafsma of London-based distributor Benchmark Drinks at The Ritz Hotel in London
The Provençal rosé marks the inaugural wine in the star’s ‘Collection’ series, and follows the unveiling of her first ever wine over two months ago, called Signature Rosé, which is a less expensive pink wine, and classified as a Vin de France as it uses grapes from across the south of the country, as opposed to within the more tightly controlled Côtes de Provence wine region.
Hailing from the 2019 vintage, Kylie’s first Provençal Rosé will be launching exclusively online via kylieminoguewines.com at £18 per bottle.
2020 has seen Kylie collaborating exclusive with London-based distributor Benchmark Drinks to launch Kylie Minogue Wines, starting with the unveiling of the Signature Rose on 28 May, which was initially sold exclusively via Tesco, and launched to coincide with her 52nd birthday, as db was the first to reveal.
With this latest launch from Kylie, another celebrity name can be attached to Provence, with famous couple Brangelina already behind a Provençal rosé with Château Miraval, along with singer John Legend and rapper Post Malone.
Kylie’s Côtes de Provence rosé is made from 50% Grenache, 40% Cinsault and 10% Rolle at the 27-hectare Château des Anglades west of St. Tropez.
Also due to launch as part of the Kylie ‘Collection’ series are a further two wines – a lees-aged Sauvignon Blanc from Gascony and a Pays d’Oc Merlot. A high-end Chardonnay from Margaret River in western Australia is also in the pipeline – Kylie has Australian and British citizenship.
