Torres producing protective equipment for hospitals
Spanish wine giant Familia Torres is using its 3D printers to produce protective equipment for healthcare workers fighting the coronavirus in Spain.
Torres is producing the headbands that hold protective face shields in place, which are being delivered to local hospitals
Torres is participating in an initiative supported by the Vilafranca City Council alongside other companies in the northern Spanish region that have access to 3D technology.
The family-owned firm is producing the headbands that hold protective face shields in place. Local police will distribute the protective equipment.
The headbands will be delivered to the Hospital Comarcal de l’Alt Penedès and other county facilities, including nursing homes and the Mas Albornà occupational centre for people with disabilities.
The initiative is also open to hospitals and healthcare facilities in other areas of Spain, which can request the equipment. The Torres family worked over the Easter holidays producing the headbands from home. Torres China is also helping with the distribution of face masks to local hospitals.
