Talbot 2018 presented in commemorative bottle
The 2018 vintage of Château Talbot will be presented in a commemorative bottle to mark the 100th anniversary of the Cordier family’s ownership of the estate.
The screen-printed black bottle features the winery’s supporting pillars, which are meant to represent both the roots and vines of the nearby vineyards.
The 2018 wine is set for delivery to customers in May next year and the St Julien fourth growth is also offering a wide array of ex-cellar wines at two auctions next month.
The first consignment will be offered by Sotheby’s in London on 11 December and includes 142 bottles covering 41 vintages from 1926 to 2010 and in formats up to imperial.
All of the larger format bottles will be presented in individual wooden cases, and 75cl bottles will be offered in pairs.
After the Sotheby’s sale, on 12 December, online auctioneer Wineandco will offer a total of 300 ex-cellar bottles from 13 selected vintages between 1955 and 2009.
This consignment will also include large formats, including magnums of the 1982 vintage and double-magnums of the 1989.
