PFV to host charity dinner in NYC

The Primum Familiae Vini group of winemakers will be hosting a charity dinner in New York this October featuring 12 rare wines from each estate.

Taking place on 16 October at Le Bernardin, proceeds from the evening – which will include an auction hosted by Sotheby’s – will go towards charity Share Our Strength’s ‘No Kid Hungry’ campaign, which is helping deprived children in the US.

The PFV has supported many charities since 1995, raising over US$3 million in that time.

At the dinner, each member of the group will present a wine from their family cellar, all of which can be seen below.

In addition, an auction during the dinner will give guests the opportunity to buy limited edition 12-bottle cases of wine, each of which comes with a ‘passport’ allowing the buyer the chance to visit each of the estates as well.

The wines being poured during the evening will be:

Hubert de Billy: 2008 Cuvée Sir Winston Churchill & 1985 Pol Roger Jeroboam

Frédéric Drouhin: 1992 Marquis de Laguiche Montrachet Grand Cru

Jean-Frédéric Hugel: 1976 Riesling Vendange Tardive

Priscilla Incisa della Rocchetta: 1998 Sassicaia

Robert de Luxembourg: 1989 Château Haut-Brion

Marc Perrin: 1989 Château de Beaucastel Hommage à Jacques Perrin

Philippe Sereys de Rothschild: 1986 Château Mouton Rothschild

Albiera Antinori: 1982 Tignanello

Miguel Torres: 1970 Mas La Plana

Pablo Alvarez: 1953 Vega-Sicilia Único

Egon Müller: 1975 Scharzhofberger Riesling Trockenbeerenauslese

Paul Symington: 1970 Graham’s Vintage Port

Tickets for the evening are on sale now, here, priced at $5,000 each. Numbers are strictly limited.
