Bonhams auctioneers take to CWG rostrum
Two of Bonhams’ leading auctioneers will take to the rostrum for this year’s Nedbank Cape Winemakers Guild auction.
Richard Harvey MW, global director of Fine Wine and Giles Peppiatt, director of Modern and Contemporary African Art will handle the annual sale taking place in Stellenbosch on 8 October.
Every year the 45 members of the Cape Winemakers Guild – including Ataraxia, Boekenhoutskloof, Groot Constantia, Kanonkop, Mullineux and Paul Cluver – make and bottle a unique cuvée for the auction which is then sold to both the trade and private collectors.
Harvey said: “It’s a great privilege to have been invited to act as auctioneer for this famous event. The Nedbank Cape Winemakers Guild Auction is known throughout the wine world for its quality and exclusivity, and Giles and I are looking forward to playing our part in making this a memorable day.”
