Printer ink costs 10 times more than vintage Champagne
The consumers’ association Which? has revealed that home printer ink costs around £1,890 per litre which is ten times more expensive than vintage Champagne.
Consumers in the UK purchase around 50 million ink cartridges every year from high street chains, with branded ink costing more than both compatible alternatives or vintage Champagne, Which? reports.
Ordered directly from a brand’s website, printer ink costs around £1.89 per millilitre or £1,890 per litre.
According to Which?, a bottle of Dom Perignon Vintage Champagne at the same price per millilitre would cost £1,417.50.
The ink was also found to be more expensive than both Brent Crude Oil and Chanel No.5 perfume.
