Pernod buys 34% stake in Seagram MM Holdings
Drinks giant Pernod Ricard has bought a 34% stake in Seagram MM Holdings, a joint venture for the production and distribution of whisky in Myanmar.
Seagram MM Holdings is a collaboration between Delta Capital Myanmar, Yoma Strategic and the Win Brothers. It is the holding company of Seagram Myanmar Company, a subsidiary of Seagram’s whisky brands, Seagram High Class and Seagram Imperial Blue.
Pernod Ricard first revealed plans to become a joint venture with Yoma Strategic last May, making it the first major international drinks producer to enter Myanmar. The financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
Following the acquisition, Yoma Strategic now owns 19.8% of the joint venture, the Win Brothers a 33% share, and Delta Capital Myanmar 13.2%.
