Park Chinois to launch Mayfair brasserie

The team behind luxury Chinese restaurant Park Chinois in Mayfair are set to open an all-day brasserie this week called Moncks of Dover Street.

Named after 16th century local and owner of the Clarendon Estate, Christopher Moncks, the restaurant will be open for breakfast, lunch and dinner offering a classic brasserie menu.

The kitchen will be led by executive chef Gennaro Vitto and head chef Valentino Pepe, both of whom have worked at Park Chinois.

Aiming to “reflect a combination of classic dishes alongside those which are influenced by the cosmopolitan tastes of the capital,” the menu is set to feature a truffled Benedict consisting of artichoke, black truffle, organic poached eggs and hollandaise sauce on an English muffin; and a vegan version of the full English breakfast.

Main courses will include pan-fried monkfish with seafood jus, seasonal vegetables and gremolata; and a roasted leg of lamb with spiced couscous, sautéed shallots, apricots and pomegranate.

Offering 92 covers, the interiors have been created by boutique firm Fettle who are also the design team behind The Marylebone Hotel.

Moncks of Dover Street will launch on 3 July.
