The acquisition means that Isle of Skye will have its own bottling facilities for the first time.
Kenny Webster, Isle of Skye’s managing director, said the acquisition is “a hugely positive move for both businesses.”
“For Skye Brewing in particular, by having our own owned bottling facilities, we’ll be able to meet current growth demands and look at additional opportunities, such as introducing new SKUs which would be another growth area for the brand.”
Both Isle of Skye and Black Wolf will operate as normal under the new ownership, according to an emailed statement. All Skye’s beers will continue to be brewed in Uig on the Isle of Skye, while Black Wolf will continue to bottle for other brands.
Black Wolf Brewery operate from Throsk near Stirling and was previously known as TSA (Traditional Scottish Ales) before rebranding in 2014.
VC2 brands, Black Wolf’s previous owner, produces Boë Gin and Stivy’s vodka liqueur.
Results filed with Companies House this month show Boë Gin’s revenues reached £8.5 million between March 2018 and February 2019.
The company said this meant it ended the financial year with an increase of more than £1.1 million on operating profits compared with last year.
