Wines from Spain tasting to return to Sky Garden

The 30th annual Wines from Spain tasting will return to London’s Sky Garden on 7 March 2019 with two dynamic events aimed at trade and consumer audiences.

At the tasting, 58 leading importers and exporters will present their Spanish wine portfolios to the UK trade and press between 10am and 5pm.

Visitors will be able to taste the latest Spanish wine releases and meet compelling wineries seeking representation in the UK.

Around 1,000 wines from 300 wineries will be available to explore within the spectacular plant-filled venue, which boasts floor-to-ceiling glass windows.

Spain’s wealth of DOs, styles and grape varieties will highlight the dynamism, depth and variety of Spanish wines being made today.

Special features will include a self-pour tasting of organic and biodynamic wines, tasting trails presenting on-trade and retail top picks, and a programme of tutorials led by expert speakers.

Members of the trade and press will be able to attend either the morning or afternoon session, while the evening will be reserved for the public.

Wines from Spain has teamed up with SquareMeal to host a consumer event for food and wine enthusiasts eager to explore the Spanish wine category.

“There is a lot of energy, innovation and passion in Spanish wineries today. We are delighted to have so many great importers and exporters presenting their portfolios of quality Spanish wines at Sky Garden next March.

“It is a key opportunity for both trade and consumer visitors to further explore Spanish wines, as well as keep up with recent trends and developments,” said Marianne Rodriguez, assistant director at Wines from Spain.

An in-depth look at the latest developments in Spanish wine can be found in db’s annual Spain report, which will be free to pick up at the tasting.
