EMW Wines, a major wine distributor and importer in Greater China, has taken on the distribution of the iconic Northern Rhône producer, Paul Jaboulet Aîné, for mainland China, taking over from the winery’s longtime partner Links Concept.
Links Concept however has confirmed to dbHK that it will still look after Paul Jaboulet Aîné’s distribution in Hong Kong and Macau.
“It’s a mutual agreement with Jaboulet & Links with a strategy for us to continue our strong representation of the brand in Hong Kong & Macau, Pierre Legrandois, general manager of Links Concept, explained to dbHK.
The Hong Kong-based wine importer has been distributing the wines from the Rhône Valley producer for more than a decade.
Founded in in 1834, the historic estate is considered a standard bearer for Northern Rhône wines. In 2006, the winery turned a new leaf when the Jaboulet family sold the winery to Jean-Jacques Frey, owner of Château La Lagune in Bordeaux and part-owner of Champagne house Billecart-Salmon.
The winery produces one of the most known reds from the region, ‘La Chapelle’ made from old vines grown in Hermitage’s granite soils.
