Rapper Snoop Dogg has penned a cook book

Having gotten a taste of the culinary world through co-hosting Snoop’s Potluck Dinner Party with Martha Stewart, rapper Snoop Dogg is now preparing to release his first cookbook, called From Crook to Cook.

Announcing its imminent launch in a press release, the rapper enthused: “You know it’s blazin’ up in my kitchen. I’m takin’ the cookbook game higher with a dipped and whipped collection of my favorite recipes, ya dig?”

The book features 50 of Snoop Dogg’s favourite recipes including baked mac and cheese, chicken and waffles and baby back ribs, and will be organised by meals and occasions while also highlighting some of his entertaining tips.

The book will also feature a recipe for a gin and juice, inspired by Snoop Dogg’s 1993 song of the same name from his debut album Doggystyle.

Christine Carswell, publisher of Chronicle Books, said: “Snoop Dogg and Chronicle Books are about to Snoopify the cookbook world and kitchens around the world. Snoop’s book is full of his iconic creative energy – it’s as much fun to read as it is to cook from.”

While From Crook to Cook won’t feature any cannabis-based recipes, Snoop Dogg’s media startup Merry Jane is planning to work with Chronicle Books to release a range of cannabis-themed books in spring 2020.

The news of the cookbook’s release comes following Snoop Dogg and Martha’s Stewart’s VH1 TV series Martha & Snoop’s Potluck Dinner Party, where the pair host a cooking competition alongside weekly guest stars. It received a nomination for a Primetime Emmy in 2017.

“When you work with someone like Snoop, it’s like having a sidekick. How great it is,” Stewart told PEOPLE. “That’s why all the comedians have sidekicks and bands because it loosens them up and lets them be freer. Snoop is my freedom.”

Published by Chronicle Books, From Crook to Cook is available for pre-order now and will be released on 23 October.
