McDonald’s to offer white-gloved butler service

High street fast food chain McDonald’s is to offer a white-gloved butler service at its Kensington branch in west London, which will be turned into a ‘luxury concept restaurant’.

The High Street Kensington branch of the popular burger chain has started taking reservations for a one-day pop-up event on 15 August.

Diners at the pop-up will enter the restaurant to the sounds of a string quartet and will be escorted to their table by butlers wearing white gloves.

The interiors will also be given a makeover that includes velvet drapes, burger-inspired artworks and diamond-studded cutlery.

Rather than the usual Big Mac or Double Cheeseburger options, diners will get to enjoy a new menu that includes ‘Classic’, ‘Barbecue’ and ‘Spicy’ burgers served from under a silver cloche.

The PR stunt coincides with the roll out of the chain’s Signature Collection. Those keen to reserve a place at the luxury pop-up can sign up here.
