Hendrick’s Gin launches World Cucumber Day celebration in Dubai
Gin brand Hendrick’s has launched a “Cucumber Curiositarium” in Dubai, showcasing unusual and unique specimens of the fruit to mark World Cucumber Day.
Hendrick’s will shine a light on curious cucumber specimens presented in display jars for travellers to marvel at in airports around the world, starting with Dubai International Airport.
In this installation, Hendrick’s will put a spotlight on “Specimen 15: The Tallest Cucumber,” giving a nod to the city’s world-famous high-rises.
Dubai is home to nine of the world’s 50 tallest buildings, including the Princess Tower (414m) and the JW Marriott Marquis Dubai Towers (355m). It is also home to the Burj Khalifa, which became the tallest structure in the world when it was topped out in 2008, with a total height of 829.8 m
As well as this, the gin brand’s other curious specimens include the ‘world’s most adored cucumber’; the ‘invisible cucumber’; the ‘sea cucumber’, presented in a tank; and the ‘explorer cucumber’ found ‘deep in the jungle’.
Hendrick’s fans will be able to get their hands on bespoke ‘Cucumber Curiositarium’ carry cases, fans and playing cards.
The fruit, along with rose, is included among the producer’s key botanicals.
World Cucumber Day will take place on 14 June.
Last year’s first World Cucumber Day campaign ran in 37 airports, reaching 70 million passengers in 10 weeks.
