Coravin to unveil new model at Vinexpo Hong Kong

Wine preservation system Coravin is launching its latest Model Eleven in Hong Kong at this month’s Vinexpo, along with its wine experience app called Coravin Moments, which allows drinkers to match their wine with their favourite film or music.

The model, announced earlier this year, is the latest and fully automatic version in Coravin’s suite of Wine Preservation Systems. The model would enable drinkers to prolong the opened wine life “for weeks, months, or even years”, according to the company.

The latest model provides two pouring option for either a taste or a full glass. Then it’s filled with 99.9% pure argon, an inert gas, to keep it fresh. The light ring on the Coravin Model Eleven will turn green, indicating it is ready to pour. Then, just tip the bottle with one hand and the wine will automatically start flowing.

The Coravin Moments app is said to be able to allow wine lovers to monitor system status for their Model Eleven. Additionally, the app can also help drinkers discover new wines, or pair experiences with the wines they already own to offer recommendations that identify unique wine pairings for user-inputted experiences regarding food to film and music.

Introduced in Asia Pacific in 2016, Coravin has rapidly expanded its APAC footprint to key locations including Hong Kong, Australia, Japan, Singapore, Taiwan and more.

Earlier this year Coravin launched on the China’s e-commerce site, JD.com, to make an array of Coravin Wine Preservation Systems available to wine lovers across China.

“Chinese wine drinkers have developed a more sophisticated taste as well as demand for fine wines, they are moving from ‘drink’ to ‘savor’, from ‘buy’ to ‘collect’,” said Alvin Sit, Sales Director of APAC.

“That is where I see the potential of Coravin (Wine Preservation System), a system that allows you to explore any bottle, put it back to your cellar and continue to age.”

The Coravin Model Eleven will be available for purchase in the US and Europe online at US$999.95 each from this fall.
