Tio Pepe ‘en rama’ released in magnums
Gonzalez Byass has released the ninth edition of its ‘en rama’ Tio Pepe, which this time will also be available in magnums.
This year’s edition of en rama was selected from 62 casks in the cellars of La Constancia and Rebollo.
Described as a “perfect harmony” by master blender Antonio Flores, the 2018 wine is reportedly “particularly intense” this year due to the cold, dry winter which helped form a compact flor layer and,in turn, a saltier, sappier and concentrated fino Sherry.
Flores said it was, “the very best interpretation of vine and cellar, and long hours spent selecting this very unique, fresh wine.”
For the first time, as well as the standard 75l and 37.5cl bottles, the wine will also be available in magnums though quantities are likely to be limited.
