Mas de Daumas Gassac to relaunch second label at Vinexpo HK

One of the Languedoc’s leading wineries, Mas de Daumas Gassac, will be unveiling the rebranded ‘Moulin de Gassac’, the winery’s second label, at the upcoming Vinexpo Hong Kong, featuring a new logo and family-oriented image, according to the winery.

“Our return to Vinexpo Hong Kong 2018 aims to renew friendships and acquaintances with our many fans and partners in Asia, which is an important market for us that we are keen to develop further, strengthening both our reputation and presence to the same level as in Europe and North America.” said Basile Guibert, one of the four brothers running the family estate.

The wines under the label include a red, white and rosé that are typified by their “lasting fresh fruit aromatics” and “off-beat” blends such as Cabernet-Sauvignon/Syrah and Viognier/Chardonnay.

The 2017 vintages to be unveiled at Vinexpo Hong Kong 2018 will include three of ‘Moulin de Gassac”s signature ranges, which are the ‘Guilhem Range’, ‘Varietal Range’ and ‘Pont de Gassac Range’.

The wines are made using grapes sourced from the estate’s own vineyard sites and from low yields. This means fewer than 20,000 bottles of each label are made, with the exception of its flagship ‘Guilhem’ label, with annual sales now over a million bottles.

The ‘Guilhem Range’ features red, white and rosé blends, while the more limited production ‘Pont de Gassac Range’ includes a red and a white.

Finally, the ‘Varietal Range’ features three single variety reds of Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah in addition to whites such as Viognier, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. The Viognier is described as a standout by the winery for its “intense, complex and lemony” notes.

Mas de Daumas Gassac can be found at Booth Q53 at Vinexpo from 29-31 May at Hong Kong Exhibition and Convention Centre.
