the drinks business to host rosé masterclass at The City Wine Show

Editor-in-chief of the drinks business, Patrick Schmitt MW, is to host a masterclass featuring the world’s greatest rosés on Friday 13 April at The City Wine Show in London.

Entitled ‘Pink and Premium’, Patrick’s masterclass will feature rosés from around the world, from the pink sparklers of Champagne to the top still wines of Provence.

Taking place at 3:30pm, the wines on show include Champagne Besserat Cuvée des Moines Rosé, Gérard Bertrand’s Château de la Soujeole and Château La Sauvageonne La Villa, Domaines Ott By Ott, The King’s Desire Marlborough Pinot Rosé and Château Brown Rosé. Vintages and further details will be revealed on the day.

Like last year, this masterclass will operate on a first come first serve basis, so make sure you’re there early to avoid disappointment.

What’s happening at this year’s City Wine Show?

Like last year, there will be a selection of Prestige Masterclasses featuring the likes of Pol Roger, E&J Gallo and iDealwine, and hosted by editor-in-chief of the drinks business, Patrick Schmitt MW.

As well as exhibitor stands, guests can sample the latest releases in our New Product Zone and taste hundreds of award-winning wines in the Discovery Zone.

Official cheese providers to the Queen, Paxton and Whitfield, will once again be offering the ideal accompaniment to all the wine, while guests will be rewarded with a free G&T from the Gin and Tonic Bar upon entry.

This year the official charity of the show is the brilliant Walkabout Foundation, which provides wheelchairs to disadvantaged communities in developing countries.

More exhibitors will be confirmed in the run up to the show, with Champagne house Piper Heidsieck, online wine auctioneer iDealwine and Argentine winery Viñalba, industry body WineGB, wine merchant Bloomsbury wine, Californian winery and distributor E&J Gallo and wine merchant Wimbledon Wine Cellar already announced.

To find out more, please visit The City Wine Show website. The trade can register for free entry on Friday 13 April here.
