Starbucks starts to serve beer and wine in Hong Kong
Your morning brew at Starbucks Hong Kong can now come with some extra kick as its flagship venue in Central has started serving coffee-infused craft beers and wines alongside coffee.
Located on the level 2 podium of IFC Mall in Central, Hong Kong, the Starbucks Reserve Store offers two craft beers created in partnership with a local brewery, according to its local licensee, Coffee Concepts.
The ‘Caramel Macchiato Cream Ale’ inspired by Starbucks Caramel Macchiato is brewed with pre-ground Starbucks Colombian coffee and caramel for more than 18 hours, wrote Inside Retail.
Another beer on the list is the ‘Mocha Brown Ale’, which marries “a robust brown ale with the indulgent chocolate and soft spice notes” of Starbucks Caffe Mocha. The beer is brewed with Starbucks Guatemala Antigua cold-brewed coffee and cocoa nibs.
In addition, the store will serve up three bottled beers including ‘Hiiro Seed Guava Love’, a fruity beer with a tropical pink guava aroma, brewed by Japan’s Hitachino Nest Beer.
There will also be eight wines on pour at the Reserve store, including four reds, three whites and a Prosecco.
The coffee company aims to open 1,000 Reserve Stores worldwide by 2019 where it will serve premium roasted coffee as well as alcoholic beverages.
